Fob/security issues
2017 FXDLS with a siren
I have already bought a new fob battery and replaced it.
Bike sat with a few weeks with the battery disconnected. Reattached it and found it couldn't see the fob and wanted a pin.
Bike runs with a pin.
Swapped out the battery in the fob (walked about 50' away), bike now sees the fob. Ride for about 20' and the gauges start saying "no fob". Bike is running, no issues.
I find if I pop the battery out of the fob and put it back in the bike will see the fob. If I turn it off then on again it no longer sees the fob.
Ideas?
Is there something on the antenna that could go out?

I know you said new batteries. Sometimes they sit on a shelf for a long time. Check the voltage on the fob battery. If it's not accurate to what is stamped on the battery, replace it with a new one.
This fixed it.
It took 3 "new in the package" batteries. Long story short i got one from the dealer and it made me realize my old one had been going out for a while with as quick as it registers it now.
Thanks for the help, I would not have thought I put a bad "brand new" battery in twice.
(And i was mistaken earlier but can't edit the post. The 2032 is the "long life" version of a 2025 or such, there aren't two 2032 versions)

This is the first time I have read/heard about a FOB just failing.... But......
Anything electrical can eventually fail.
Even electrical components, which don't "wear" like mechanical components, have warranties... stuff happens...
