Default New fob battery, will start with code, does not recognize fob

A couple nights ago I was riding on I95 south from DC and like so often I hit traffic, in an effort to keep the bike and myself cool I shut the bike off and just coasted or pushed the bike with traffic. Unbeknownst to me I had dropped my key fob somewhere between National Harbor and Arlington so the bike wouldn't start without first overriding the security system. No problem, I have a new fob at the house I can use, no dice, changed the battery in the fob again no dice. The lights flash and the bike won't recognise the key fob. The bike will start with the code, but not with the fob, any suggestions?

Go to the dealership and have them disable the alarm.

Order a new TSM module to replace your TSSM.
When it arrives - remove the alarm/harness/antenna and ride with a lot more piece of mind knowing you won't get stuck somewhere unable to start your bike and save money by not having it constantly draining your battery.

Not nearly as big a pain in the *** as having your scooter stolen.

I've noticed my key will come out of the ignition also, I've been thinking about some kind of a chain with a clip or something that stays attached to something so that if it does fall out it won't go far.
