So today I got out in the garage and pulled the tank on my 2013 Super Glide project’s engine build. It’s getting a Fuel Moto 107” kit with FM cylinders, Woods TX-777 cams, FM Level BX heads, I’m adding ACRs, and a Two Brothers Racing GenII 2 into 1 exhaust. It’s cold here so I’ll heat up the garage every couple of days and start pulling the top of the engine and cam chest open.
No hurry, I’ll knock this install out over the next couple of weeks an hour here and an hour there. I’ll snap pics as I go along and share any interesting tidbits.
Managed to get the mag wheels sorted with bearings, spacers, and new tires yesterday and mounted on the bike today. I’m happy with how they turned out.
I think that I am done for a bit. Time to focus on finishing my Norton resto.
Pulled the guts out of the cam chest after lunch. Good thing I ordered new tensioners from Fueling.
That stupid exhaust bracket at the bottom of the cam chest is going to be a real bastard to remove i can’t even get a Torx on 2 of the heads and the one I can reach, the head stripped. But it doesn’t appear that I need it for the new exhaust. I’ll probably have to get creative on those.
More later in the week.
(update: I was able to get that exhaust bracket off by cutting off the bolt heads with a carbide burr and extracting the screw shank with clamping pliers.)

Reason: Just updating
Good pics. BTW, nothing wrong with that tensioner; chain is almost down to to the roller.
this bike has just over 20k miles on it. I would have expected a little less wear on the tensioners (the primary tensioner had a good bit of wear on it too.). But it’s not out of line. Not the kind of wear that’s going to give someone a bad day soon, but the kind in which you’d want to replace upon inspection.
You can save yourself a lot of time by going to standard hex bolt grade 5 5/16/18 for the lower intake manifold bolts..
As for the lower bracket on the bottom of the case for the exhaust if you take just the torx bit and a Chapman, easy peasy to get them.. out plenty of room..
Cool build, just finished a zippers kit with the same specs. That bracket kicked my *** for a bit.
Mine was a 96 without the ACR’s I grabbed a set of used heads off eBay from a 103. Then added the ACR’s, wiring was already in place, just check a box in the DJ tune.
Plan on a clutch upgrade too, if you haven't already.
It’s so ****ing cold man, hiding in the garage is almost as painful as housekeeping with the old lady. Keep em coming.
