front caliper misalignment
I bought a 2009 superglide project bike. It came with front caliper not mounted on the fork, it was fixed to the frame with a tywrap.
I had some parts powedercoated, and now assembling the bike.
The last owner mounted streetbob (laced) wheels which look nice.
However the front caliper doesn't fit, it is to far near the fork. It's about 5mm off I'm guessing.
As you can see in the pic I already filed off the powedercaot layer on the caliper and fork where the two parts face.
I could place a 5mm shim between the left fork and the left spacer, but that doesn't feel right, and might bring sideward tension to the legs.
The brake rotor should be more to the right but that's not possible.
Attached 2 pics, hope this gives a good picture of the situation.
Any thouhgts on this ?
Thnx!

Someone will be along shortly to check me on this, but IIRC there is a scenario where the donor wheel may have come from a bike with ABS and the left-hand bearing is different from the non-ABS bikes and that would cause the wheel to shift to the left and 'pinch' the forks together and that's bad.
The wheel hub must be centered in the forks without pinching or spreading the forks.
Post a pic of the wheel & close-up of bearings of both sides and pic of your spacers and axle

The one installed is for a "Wide Glide" or Fat Bob. Which one could be determined by seeing the fender mounts, but I'm guessing WG unless you see modfications to the fender to make it fit.
Regardless, you need a different slider
