2007 Dyna. 105" top end with 10.5:1 cr, SE255's, Stand Alone Ignition, Mikuni HSR, heads massaged, solid motor sprocket, V&H Big Shots and OEM gearing. Speed Limit in TX is 70, a very comfortable cruising speed.

If you do this, your bike will cruise at a lower RPM but I doubt you'll gain any top end speed. And it will take longer to get to top end.

The 32/66 is bad enough. You go to the 64 and you will have a gutless mess, but it is your bike.
I'm guessing that since the OP has an 08 it has a 96" motor. I've never ridden one of those Dynas but I will say my 03 Wide Glide with the 88 was geared so low first gear was completely unnecessary and I hit fifth gear at 45 mph. The bike was very uncomfortable on the highway due to the ridiculously high engine rpms. I added one tooth to the front pulley (Baker 33 tooth) when I installed a Baker OD6 gearset. Bike runs great and is a dream on the highway. Sure it may have a little less low end grunt, but it is much more pleasurable to ride. I actually spend more than half a second in each gear now. I've had no clutch issues after twelve years and 20,000 miles with this setup. Starting off from a stop really doesn't involve any unnecessary clutch slippage. The original first gear ratio was so low you could just about dump the clutch and only be going walking speed.

That being said since the OP already has a six speed I wonder if his problem is really high rpms on the highway or maybe just worn motor mounts.
