My brand new bike that supposedly had a PDI was way out. Once adjusted up even the halogen lamp lit up the road.
Folk change rear shocks for longer ones that would cause the headlamp to point downward some.
Now an inch shock change could certainly do it and could be even more pronounced with an LED with how precise their edges can be!
We actually our talking about two kinds of different animals, our USA headlights are focused different than EU headlights and vastly different than right-side driving countries such as Britain, and it's not say just a reversed pattern but like I said, their focus points are different for what ever reasons and yours may actually be better than some of our stockers.
I haven't seen an LED headlight yet that wasn't a night and day difference. Night and day
And of course all are better than those dead-battery faint worthless yellow lights the French had all those years!
Cheers

With the low prices of these things I don't see how you could go wrong even if you picked the wrong one
Interesting thread indeed. The stock light on my 2003 FXDWG ain't too bad, guess it's aimed right. That being said those Wisamic and Sunpie lights look pretty tempting for the price. Anyone know if either is better or are they about the same?
I cant speak to the Wisamic, but I had a Sunpie on my Electra Glide and my Road Kings. 100% improvement over stock, and like the guys above have mentioned, at $50 or so, you cant go wrong.

I thought they both were excellent. I had one of them on my '07 Dyna and the other kind on my '12 Dyna. I can't remember which bike had which brand. I used both bikes for pre-dawn commuting to work for years. They each worked as well as the other. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they were both made in the same factory.
When I sold the '12 I had put over 30,000 miles on the headlight and when I sold the '07 I had put over 60,000 miles on the light. They were both still working as well as when they were new.
I installed an H-D "Daymaker" on my Iron 883 in 2012, I sold the bike in July this year to a buddie, it is still performing great. It was expensive at Ł400, but it has proved to be worth the money spent.
I have 2 Sunpie LED headlamps.. Love them, especially for the price.. I have found that if you aim them a tad high they work best for me.. What I really like though is how wide the pattern is...
Hit the BUY/INSTALL button now, and then post photos of course, might as well take some before/after glamour shots of the bike
Ask and it shall be given....
Thanks everyone for the Sunpie tip! Holy HELL is this thing bright. Makes the halogen crap from Harley look like a candle. I can NOT wait to get this thing out on the road!! Hopefully tomorrow eve to tear up the night!
There is a difference in eyes. For example, my wife needs every fu@king light on in the house to go to the bathroom at 3:00 AM. I need no light. I see well in the dark. We just get different genes, different abilities. So while I don’t need super bright LEDs to see the road, deer, bear, dogs, etc, I do understand others do. Simply put, I’m comfortable riding all night, or for that matter, sailing along a coast all night while others are not. Their day time vision may be better than mine, but my rods vs cones make night riding relatively easy while you may see colors more intensely than I am able. (Okay, I have a vivid black Harley) So match a light that works for your eyes. I’ve also noticed, that some of the modern LEDs do not reflect off the back of a deers eyes as well as halogen, so you might think about keeping your running lights old school halogen.
Okay, old school is tungsten, incandescent, but halogen was the first Great Leap Forward in headlights after incandescent replaced gas lights.

Any amp/voltage codes thrown by your bike? I have an '09 also. I agree the stock 5 3/4" bucket is pretty weak at best.
