I have them on my '05 Superglide, but in order to make everything fit like I wanted I had to trim the bolts that held the bag on so an acorn nut would fit.
Got mine from Chicago Harley, but JP Cycles have them as well. Although you can't lock the bags to the bike, you can get locks for your bags....I've been looking at this system at inertiawrx.com
Great, thanks. Another quick question, please. How are the bags held away from the side of the bike - or is that a problem? Do you use something like this? Or just allow them to hang?
Just a quick question. As you can see from my signature I have the Harley color matched hard bags on my dyna. Has anyone ever used the Barebacks with Hard Bags?

Greatly appreciate the insight!

I don't think those supports are needed with Barebacks and leather bags, mine sits about 1/2inch away from the fender struts.
I put the Inertiawrx lock system on my HD 90369-06A bags and am very hapy with them. I had to modify the Inertiawrx system in irder to make it work with these bags. The opening on my bags is too small to work with the top bracket that they supply so I made my own from a sheet of 1/4 inch thick ABS. I also had to cut down the ratchet bar that they supplied but once installed they work great.
If anyone is interested, I will take a few pictures of the locks and try to figere out how to post them.
Here are a couple of shots of the Inertiawrx Leather Bag Locks.
I cant remember the name of the guy at Inertiawrx but when we talked he was very helpful. Since I did not need the top brackets that come standard with the saddlebag lock kit, he ended up selling me 2 lock kits for a leather tour pack (PT # RBL-TP1) for $49.50 each. It saved me some money and I don't have extra parts that I didn't need laying around.
Great. If you can bear with me for one more rookie question....given that you don't need supports, I gather that the side of the saddlebags must be quite rigid?
I think if you need support you would be better off with easy brackets or ghost brackets, they have a support plate built in. I am going with barebacks on my bags (Dyna Big Bags) because they have a metal frame already built in, and I think the Barebacks will work better with that setup.

Jim, I'm not the handiest guy, what was involved in installing these and are there screws through the top of the bags?If so, any chance of seeing a pic of that?
Bob to answer your question, the HD bags have a rigid plate on the back side to keep them looking right.
