Default 2005 Dyna worth it ??

Looked at and test road a 2005 Dyna Low at a car dealership .
They claim they bought it in Albany N.Y. ?
Dealer is near Plattsburgh N.Y. .
2 tone pearl and everything stock .
Has security and fuel injection thats abought it .
Seen a couple small scratches , other then that it runs and drives great .
I,m realy looking at the differences between the 05 and 06 or 07 s
I hear its a different fram , rear tire size,side covers,5 or 6 speed and 07 has the 1584 cc engine .
Anyway this bike has 916 miles on it .THATS IT ??.
He was asking $12,995.00
Cash sale $11,700.00
I told him there was alot of differences between the 05 and newer Dynas .
He said bikes still new , I said yes but no warranty ??
Does this seem to much for a 2005 Dyna low with security and fuel injection with 916 miles ???
Is it worth $11200. ish or should I just keep looking ??

Nope not worth it, I have a 05 WG i'ld sell you for 15G though.

Actually, I'ld say 11,700 isn't a bad price at all. Used bike prices are all over the board but this one isn't even broke in yet and seems like if you like the bike it would be a good deal. 10,000 would be a better deal but I'ld say that 12,500 is still probably a fair price. In short, if I was looking and it was the color I liked with less that 1000 miles for 11,700 I would buy it. just my .02

A little quick research on the NADA site and eBay indicates that any price under $12K is a pretty good deal.
NADA lists $9.5K to $12.5K price range for a 2005 FXDLI.
There is one on eBay with A LOT more miles and wear and tear for $10.5K.

$11.7K looks good but $11.2K would obviously be better.

If possible, you could take it to a local HD dealer and have them check it out both mechanically and what they think it is worth.

since it's out of factory warranty or close to it. ask a local harley dealer if they would help out on the valve guide seal issue, if they can't or won't, find out how much the job would cost out of pocket and ask the auto dealer if they will knock the price down to cover the cost. the low rider is fun to drive and has great potential for mods. yes it's a 88, yes it's a 5 speed., yes the forks are smaller and imho i think the frame is a little stronger, but hey what do i know? i think you would really enjoy this ride.

Have my 02 Low up for sale at $12,500. Near mint condition, dealer serviced, 12,500 miles & loaded: chrome, bags, seats, pipes, etc.
Runs strong, doesn't leak or burn oil. Syn since new, 3rd mature adult owner. You would spend at least $4k to get a stock low rider up to this level of add-ons. This bike sold for over $20,000 new. The 05 is a good deal if you don't want to do too much in the way of upgrades and the 1450 has plenty of power.

maybe i'm missing something here, but you can buy a new superglide for under 12 grand.....probably get some harley bucks to boot...new bike, warrenty, etc....i never understood why people will pay big bucks for something used...my feeling is buy it new if its anywhere near the cost...the payment will be almost the same and you have a new bike..put your own chrome on later if you wish....i personally think the days of paying deary for used bikes is about gone...just as it is in cars....just my .02 worth..

Ya, that seems high to me too. Especially with all the changes since then. Plus finance charges are usually higher on used stuff so payments might not be much different from new.
