OK I have a superglide 07, How do you remove the seat? Do I need to take of the pillion first? How is it connected to the rear fender? I just don't want to mess anything up.
Thanks
If the pillion is hiding the screw that hold down the piece on the main seat. After removing the screw then pick-up a little the rear of the seat and push down and back on the front of theseat near the tank. If you have the seat strap turn the seat and remove forward. I hope this will help.

I got rid of all that nonsense and fixed the strap directly to the seat. Nobody grabs that strap any longer on modern bikes, it is more like a way to split the seat into two so it doesn't look like a flatened banana. Take a look at pics 46 to 51 in: http://imageevent.com/wforest/dynasuperglidecustom
Five minute job, strap as strong as ever and now the seat removal is as easy as turning one little screw off.
