windsheilds
Check this site out for something you might think about. I try harley detachable and did not like it, becuase bad air from shield. It looks like it is better made for your bikes.

I recently purchased and installed (from an eBay seller) a Harley-Davidson, quick detachable, Dyna "compact" windshield (smoke colored) for my 2007 Super Glide Custom. What I wanted was to eliminate the constant, and strong pushing of the wind on my chest when riding long distances at speeds over 65mph. The windshield completely eliminated the wind on my chest so I am satisfied with the purchase. I can now ride long distances (100-500 miles) without becoming so tired.

I just bought a detchable shield made by Memphis Shades (21"). Good quality and does the job.

rdondes - like your compact windshield. I have the full, but am thinking about changing or cutting it down because of vision issues - it's about 2" above eye level. Are you getting a lot of air from underneath or head buffetingat higher speeds?
I sport a shield on the bike when i am on the HWY for any length of time, just crank up the tunes and enjoy, i have the HD quick release... LOVE IT! on and off in no time, great wind protection, and does not look to bad if i leave it on. I live in chicago so from late this month till summer it will be ont he bike to keep me just a touch warmer while riding in the winter months
I bought the HD QD windshield, in my opinion, doing it over again, I'd look elsewhere.
It took me many fabrications and trial runs to finally get the head buffeting to stop.
Of course I could have just purchased some lowers and been done with it, but I had to play.
In reality, this being my first Harley, my opinion is that they don't really do much areodynamic research when putting out a product as their winshields. Seems as though every other manufactured bike I've had in the past actually care about end user comfort and may have actually done some research.
After a bunch of time and some extra money on top of the cost of the windshild, I have what actually does stop the buffeting and I can easily communicate back and forth with my wife while riding at 65 MPH, which actually was the other one of my goals besides making the head stop rattling.
With this goal being reached, I had to give up something, (besides cash to HD) I gave up looks! I don't have the best looking windshield anymore, but I now have an idea of what I need in the future.
So with the cooler seasons ahead, give a wave to the guy with a funky looking windshiled, that'll be me till I can afford to fork out more dough for something that actually works right the first time.
With this being said, there are some who don't have the same problems, so it must come down to height, weight, bike, accesories, etc....
