I have seen several people that really like the quick disconnect H-D windshield. Was thinking about one for myself to knock some of the wind off for winter. I'm starting to git older and the cold is effecting my more.
The wind blowing on me don't bother me or wear me out as long as it ain't cold . I'm used to the wind. Good exercise.
Don't know how it would look with 14" ape bars. Anybody got a windshield with Apes on.
I bought the HD QD windshield, in my opinion, doing it over again, I'd look elsewhere.
It took me many fabrications and trial runs to finally get the head buffeting to stop.
Of course I could have just purchased some lowers and been done with it, but I had to play.
In reality, this being my first Harley, my opinion is that they don't really do much areodynamic research when putting out a product as their winshields. Seems as though every other manufactured bike I've had in the past actually care about end user comfort and may have actually done some research.
After a bunch of time and some extra money on top of the cost of the windshild, I have what actually does stop the buffeting and I can easily communicate back and forth with my wife while riding at 65 MPH, which actually was the other one of my goals besides making the head stop rattling.
With this goal being reached, I had to give up something, (besides cash to HD) I gave up looks! I don't have the best looking windshield anymore, but I now have an idea of what I need in the future.
So with the cooler seasons ahead, give a wave to the guy with a funky looking windshiled, that'll be me till I can afford to fork out more dough for something that actually works right the first time.
With this being said, there are some who don't have the same problems, so it must come down to height, weight, bike, accesories, etc...
I have the HD QD windshield on my Low Rider and love it. I am 5'9" and have a HD forkbag. I get none of the buffeting people complain about. After using it for several weeks now, I can't understand why anyone would ride on the highway without one. I take it off only on hot days cruising around town. It is literally off in 10 seconds. I store it in the box it came in when not on the bike.
This is the one I have thought it looked the best some wind noise around head light not bad easy on /off Fits '06-later DynaÂŽ models (except FXDWG, FXDF and FXDSE). Windshield dimensions: Overall height 26.3"; height above headlamp 18.5"; width 25".

When I bought my '04 Wide Glide, it came with the HD QD sport windshield. The width of the shield was 21". I can't stand it, the wind buffets from underneath like a tornado and there's a constant swirling of air that blurs my vision to no end. After having the shield on for one run, I took it off anddefinitely won't use it again.

I'm lookin at I think that windshield for my 07 wide glide, Its the short one. Just think it might look bad with 14" ape bars Oh !
My opinion is the glides are not aerodynamic for the windshield, what I mean is the bike does not handle good . The tourers are heavier and handles better than the dyna
