I have the relocation kit and it worked well. I originally bought the HD kit, but it was not what I wanted looks wise, and would have forced me to remove several parts I paid good $$ to get the job done.
I also bought shorter taillight mounts found on Softtail models (Harley PN#69820-06). The stock dyna longer ones worked but got in the way a little when I opened my bags. HD sells this short rear bracket kit for $34.95 which includes the shorter mounting screws. It doesn't come up if you look under Dyna, search under Softtail. Fitment lists the Dyna first on the list. Parts also sells-em seperate for more witout the screws. My 07 even had a hole in the tins to fish the wires.
I got the easy braskets from Ace Leather where I got my bags from, which is how I found this relocation bracket. I mounted it on the back of my drag specialties laydown chrome license plate bracket. It's tight putting the top plate bolts back on but it works great. I agree it does not look as good as the site, but I'm very happy with how it turned out.
Here are some pics of the Tail light relo kit. Sorry for the so so pictures it's dark in the garage. I'll post better ones on my site with my other mods when I get a minute
I am sold on the relocation kit and will place my order tomorrow. Thanks for everyones help. The forum has been a great avenue of resource information.
