Damn, i was putting the cover on my primary and 2 out of the 5 srews snapped right off. The torque says 80-104. I did not even get to 40 and they snapped.
Do you think it will be safe to ride until monday when the harley shop is open. It is still pretty tight...
If 3 of the 5 are as tight as the 2 that broke, they should hold it all together until you get it to the dealer. But...if you have a drill, the screws are really easy to drill out and remove the cover. You have to have the torque wrench zero'd improperly or on the wrong setting.
You should be able to remove the remaining screws and then either remove the broken screws by hand or with a small pair of pliers after removing the cover.
the requirements are in "inch lbs" also known as" in lbs". may want to check with a good hardware store with a known good screw and see if theyhave a replacement. when replacing them just snug them down good.
Hand tight then a little twist. There's no presure in the primary.. I've used the same gasket at least three times, still not a drop... I do change the rubber O ring though.... LOL
