I finally picked up my 08 Super Glide Custom on Friday. Man 'o man, what an incredible machine! I've spent the last 9 years on a 1200C; while she was a great bike, I can't believe the difference between the Sporty and and the Custom! I know, I'm preaching to the choir, but damn she's incredible!
I haven't done much in the way of mods yet. Just an engine guard, highway pegs and a windscreen, but there's more to come. I'll post pictures when I can stop drooling on the camera. Hmmm, might be a while, I'd better get Household 6 to take 'em.
I picked up my black '08 FXDC this past Saturday (I'm in the Houston area, but had to go to Beaumont to find the bike!) and couldn't agree with ya more!
I've had a Road King Classic (3 years) and a 1200 Sportster Low (10 months). Traded the Sportie for the FXDC. Put 200 miles on the SGC yesterday runnin' thru some twisties in the national forest, etc. Handles great, engine just *purrs*, good suspension, and the stock seat and bars were acceptable.
This bike has everything I want...a great look, good ride comfort, and ability to go from bare to bagger quickly. I've got a quick detach windshield, detachable passenger backrest, and pick updetachable bags next Saturday.
