Out the door $13890...
Sounds great to me , what do you think ??
Asked if he would include the forward controls . Said he could only give 10% off ***.
No security stock bike out of create ..[8D]
I think he is feeding you a line to move the 07 other than the rocker i have seen plenty of 08 at the dealer
and probably will for a while it is so slow in sales right now they are shutting down certain plants for weeks at a time till things look up.
Still a good price. I don't have the security either and paid more than that for my super glide custom. Depends on where you live or leave your bike I guess but I haven't felt the need for a security system.
I think they're having a hard time getting rid of a lot of Harley's right now no matter what the year. The market has gotten a little soft and we're heading towards cooler weather. They aren't going to sell as many non-touring bikes this time of year no matter what year it is.
Given the new price of the FXDC, though, $12,995, I wouldn't spend almost $14K for an 07 low unless you are absolutely stuck on the low. Compared to an 08 low - take the deal. But if in the market for other dyna's possibly, check them out first.
Harley recently announced that its expected production of motorcycles for the 3rd Quarter of this year will drop to between 86,000-88,000 bikes instead of the previously forecasted 91,000-95,000 bikes...
This doesn't mean that Harley is dropping their production. Rather, they'll produce as many bikes as dealerships will order. It's just that they expect orders to fall shorter than what they had previously expected. You'll always be able to go into any dealership and buy whatever bike you want. They may not have it in stock, but they can always order it.
I think the sales guy was spinning this around to give you a sense of urgency.
Be sure to check out a few other dealers. Things have gotten a little soft in sales for HD. This possibly due to most dealers attitudes about service on your ride. I and many others have had a hard time with the dealers service departments causing problems with our rides.
I've certainly slowed my purchases down with my dealer. I normally spend over $2K a year on parts, accessories, and clothes. My dealer's attitude ticked me off enough until I look at other vendors for my parts and accessories. I also use an Indy to do my service work, unless something really major breaks, like the transmission or crank.
Check our the resale on an 06 Dyna. You should be able to get a good one with plenty of accessories and low miles for a good deal. They have lost a lot of their resale value. Same for an 07 and possibly the 08 as well. Check out the Blue Book value.
A dealer is going to go on "Your Desire" to keep the price up. I did get a good deal on my 06 Dyna, $11,400, OTD. Maybe that will give you a price to shoot for. The dealers have plenty of bikes in the warehouse, and will use all sorts of tricks to entice you into giving them more money.
I do know that the new fat bob has not yet hit the showrooms. I work with a guy that is waiting for one to come in to buy. they say 2 to 3 more weeks. But here in Houston every other model is available, and all dealers are offering $1k plus off of the 07's
The broad that sold me mine told me this was the last year they were making the wide glide, that Harley was discontinuing 7 models. Of course I bought the same day so I got the sahft. I got a wind screen which looks like crap and a back rest as part of the sale. Lat time I go to that dealership
Keep in mind your depreciating a year right out the door with the 2007 since the 2008 modelsare out and the 2008 may not cost that much more. The dealers I've been to have lots of the 2007 models and are trying to get as much if not more money for them than the 2008 is selling for. The 2008 models I've seen are not selling very good either. Bad bike year and bad service =poor sales.
I was in a couple dealers in UT this weekend. About all I saw was '08s. One dealer had an 07 Bob that looked like it had been on more than one test ride. There are pleny to '08s back home in NC too.
