Default Help with Apes on a Dyna

My buddy has a 2006 Dyna Super Glide and wants to do 10 or 12 inch apes. He would like to do 1.25 inch bar. His delima is, his bike has the speedo on the bars and doesn't want to do the tank relocation due to $$$. Does anyone know of a 1.25" bar that may go down to 1" so he can keep his speedo there?

most larger dia bars all taper for the grips and clamp mount mostly to save you having to change out all yo stuff. i know wild ones chubby bars do this and sum other as well but cant remeber the names. wild ones are kinda spendy but really really nice bars. hope this helps a lil bit

My wild ones taper down at the ends for the grips and in the center for the clamp.

How much higher than stock can one go with the apes without having to get all new cables?

One of the dealerships in Houston wouldn't inspect my bike because the speedo didn't work. I tried to tell them that it wasn't require. Took it to an indi and got my sticker.

I know the bars go down to 1 inch, but I thought speedo conected to the side of the clamp. I don't know does someone have a picture of the speedo on the bars.

The speedo and the upper handlebar clamp are one piece on an '06 Superglide. '06, '07, and '08 are all the same. Just go to the harley website and to the walkaround and blowup the rider view.
