looking for some ideas for highway peg setups on my 06 bob,,,,need to get stretched out a little on a long criuse,,,,,just not relaxed with my feet stretched out over the foward control pegs,,,,,pics would help alot,,,,
I used the H-D chrome highway peg mounts (only thing in stock when I was shopping) and had them powder coated black at a local shop. As for the pegs themselves, I went with the large, full rubber covered peg. I like having as much gripping surface as possible for my heels, boot arches, etc. They also clean very easily.
I didn't want the chrome brackets so I pieced out the LoRider parts, every nut, bolt, washer, etc.,(the brackets are black) and went that route. Only problem with that is, it costs a little more than twice the price of a complete set with the chrome bracket.
Looking back, I probably wouldn't do it that way again. The powder coat idea is a good idea if you want black, and much cheaper.
I found Kuryakan hiway pegs for my 05 wide glide at sturgis last year. They can be found on Dennis Kirks website under Part # 49-1956. I'm not sure if they are available anymore but you can at least see what they look like from the website. I love them. I get stretched out and it's like riding my recliner.
I went with the large, flat iso pegs with stirrups (heel rests) - it's the only way to go. Keeps you from getting bird feet. Anything that's flat & padded with a heel rest is a must for distance riding. Only thing better would be floorboards & I'm tempted.
Got them in 3 daysafter ordered.
The extensions swing out from the pegs and extend your legs an additional 3".
I only had time this evening to go around the block about 10 miles, but I think they are going to make the long trips a lot more enjoyable.
They ain't cheap, though.
thanks for he replys all.....but still need to find something that works with forward controls,,,,don't want to go with the mustache bar system but may have to,,,,,
