Went for a ride yesterday and got this Lens cover from Drag Specialties at the stealer. They happened to have one sitting on the rack and I snapped it up for 25 bucks. Too bad I forgot I would need a red replacement bulb and the only ones they had at Autozone ran me 18 bucks for two.
Still looks pretty trick and i can swap the bulbs out if the leds go bad.
Jay, I actually like the look of that better than the LED for my bike since I don't have LED's anywhere else. Unfortunately I didn't think to check Drag Specialties and couldn't find that option from HD or Kuryakyn. However, XKROME's post concerned me a little about going this route anyway. Apparently the layback lense is much closer to the bulb and his actually ended up melting his smoked lense so J&P replaced the lense and sub'd LED's for a bulb. So, be careful with yours. Looks good though!

I believe XKROME used too hot a bulb in his, which resulted in his lens meltdown. I checked with a buddy before using this led bulb and he said as long as it is the same volt/amp, I will have no worries. Did 50 plus miles last nite with it in and no problems whatsoever.
On the downside, I would like it if it would lite up a little brighter when braking, but it still gets the job done. Saved myself about a 100 beans going this route versus the HD LED setup and it looks much better IMO.
I have the Drag part number and the Autozone part number if anyone wants to try it out.
i wasn't sure if i liked it either when i installed it and saw all the spiraling and blinking. but I've gotten lots of positive comments, especially on PGR missions and i can't see it while riding anyway so i figured what the H, maybe cages will see me stopped in front of them.
Friend of mine has the blinking one on his lowrider with integrated turn signals. Theblinking brakelight is an eye catcher in my opinion and therefore, a good thing. However, his turn signals are very hard to notice. I've ridden behind him many times and never seem to see his turn signals right away except at night. He's so conscious of this, though, that he always uses hand signals as well as turn signals.
Sorry man, reread my post and didn't mean to come off like I was knocking your choice. I have ridden behind dudes with the blinky tailights and just find it distracting, to say the least. I prefer a normal solid lite up. That's just another humble opinion from a fellow rider.............
