Hey people...I 'm sitting here typing this with my left finger. Right arm in a sling from surgery a couple weeks ago. Anyways..I read this dyna forum just about every chance I get and really haven't posted much, but I want to say I am really impressed and thankful for alot of the people that post in here. Not getting all sentimental and chit, but just wanted to say thanks. I've learned alot and got a lot of ideas from here. Doc says it'll be a month or so before I can get my arm strong enought to ride..I say different..but I don't want to push it..(I rode my bike the other day to the corner and back after lifting my right hand up to the handlebars with my left hand (shoulder surgery) and it hurt like hell but damned if I did'nt have a stoopid looking grin on my face.. Gonna listen to the doc and wait ot out. Gettin too old to be stubborn. I'd be out shinin' 'er right now if it was'nt rainin'. Ok..I'm babblin'...you guys be safe out there..and keep postin' ~Bob
Hopefully thememory of your smile will help to a speedy recovery. Either that or hopefully it will rain everyday till your ready to ride, then, of course stay dry forever.
Get well soon.
Hey there, get well soon.......... I know what you mean about the smile. I was going down the pike yesterday, and just started grinning ear-to-ear.
Take it easy on that arm, sir so you can do some serious ear-to-smiling when the Doc says its okay.
Don't you hate seeing/hearing Harleys go by when you can't ride??
I feel guilty because we're in Maggie Valley right now enjoying "your" beautiful mountain roads.[&o] It's been 4 years since my own shoulder surgery (left side) and I remember having to pick that arm up many times. Drive-throughs (bank, fast food) were a biatch. At least you don't have to shave your armpits!!! Three months after surgery I was doing about everything I wanted except swimming. It's almost the only thing that still reminds me that my shoulder once caused me a lot of grief. Yesterday, we got caught in bumper to bumper traffic around Ashville on 240 & 40 with rush hour plus an accident. After about 30 minutes of constantly pumping my clutch, it began to ache just a little bit. My hand was killing me. [:'(] You won't have to worry about that with your right side! Good luck-heal fast!
Hope you heal up soon. Went through the same thing last year when I had my knee scoped. Spent 5 weeks healing/rehabbing and couldn't get my mind off the bike sitting in the garage. I managed to hobble out there a couple of times just to look at it. I didn't know about this forum at the time, and maybe that was a good thing. For me, at least. Probably would have made the angst worse than it was ...
Here's to a speedy recovery, BobStreetBob.Here's to it raining till you're able to ride. You know, using the throttle is considered therapy,( well maybe I'm making that part up).
Hey Bob,
I am looking at shoulder surgery this winter. Torn Rotator, getting old sucks, I know what you mean getting the arm up on the bars, hurts like hell, but I sucked it for the summer and I will have the winter months to heal up. New England weather should keep the bike and me apart till April.
Good luck, heal fast. the bike willl be there for you when you are ready.
