I have an 07 low rider and I ordered Vance and Hines straight shots slip-ons through my dealership and they told me I didn't need to do anything unless I upgraded the air cleaner. These guys have been great and I trust them. Find a different dealership or at the very least someone else to talk to there who isn't going to hand you a line of crap!

I've got an old school shop I go to and the owner rolls his eyes every time some dude comes in wanting to spend a thousand bucks to make his bike louder. His solution, drill out baffles fifty bucks...have a nice day.

If you run slip-ons only (V&H, Screaming Eagle) you do not have to run with a FuelPak or better air filter. The ECM will measure the oxygen at the sensors and adjust as needed. It is only if you go to the High flow filter, pipes and mufflersthe a fuel management device, SERT ornewmapping at the dealeris necessary on the computer style bikes.

One more time....
Just drill out the plate in the end of the mufflers with a hole saw. Use the size that fits the hole.
Start bike, blow out slugs.
Now use the money not spent to put the most important accessory on your bike.
MILEAGE.

I just did that!! It's so much better.... no popping or "engine failure codes" .I'm still shocked I believed the stealership on that one!!Just a better , at least tolerable tone! Thanks to all. Now ride on!!
