I was told at the dealer that you can't change these stock pipes without also doing a fuelpack and different air kit. I am uncertain that they ALWAYS have me in mind. I hate the way this bike sounds yet I am uneasy dropping ANOTHER 1,200.oo dollars at the dealership. Is it not Ok to change out the pipes to a slip-on and just keep rolli'??
If you just chang the pipes and go with slipons you should be ok. Will run a bit lean and you'll get some popping on decel . Just check your plugs for a lean condition . For about 600.00 you can add slipons , a/c and a fuelpak or simular fuel management system and do it yourself. Get the service manual for your bike and save some scratch. It's easy to do and there's plenty of good help here if ya need it. Good luck and let us know how ya did.

Can't speak for the 07's, but my 05 ran fine and showed no bad signs on the plugs with just slip-ons and no other changes. I had a download done when I put on the SE air cleaner kit just to be on the safe side.
The people at the dealership said you can't change anything on the 07 without "engine malfunction codes" popping up ... whatever that means.. I'm so old school!! Man we used to just knock out the baffles and rejet. I'm sure this EFI thing is good BUT. Hey, thanks folks for any input.
I ran my 07 Street Bob for six months with V&H slipons with no other mods. It ran fine with no popping. You won't help with the "heat" issue until you get a tuner. Most of the tuners assume you are upgrading with an air kit.
So what's with this"engine malfunction code" crap?? 'Cause I 'm about to take those crappy stock pipes off ASAP if I'm sure I'll do no engine damage!!!!
I put Rush slip ons with 2 in baffles on my 07 SG. Love the sound of them. The very low end resonance at idle is to kill for. My brother in law has a Sporty 883 with fairly loud pipes and it sounds good but when I pull up beside him it is like someone is playing bass!!!
I ran them alone for a while before doing the air cleaner and in my case a PCIII. I have read many experts say that pipes alone will not cause a problems. The pipes are not as big a restriction as the air cleaner is. If you change ac you need to go with tuner. My own findings verify this.
Try the Rush pipes. They are LOUD when you peg it but nice at cruise and absolutely a work of art at idle stopped at a light!
I have 9800 miles on my '07 WG with slip-on Khrome Works HP3s. Sounds and runs great ( i'm getting used to the decel pop-the stock pipes did it too). PS, find a new dealership.
