Thinking about chopping a low rider rear fender into a Spike Style and relocating the turn signals to flush mounted and pushing the tail light and license plate to the left. What do you think?
I've had the bike for 10 years now and thought of changing the look a bit and the rear fender seems a cheap way to go. I can always switch back when needed. I believe I saw a street bobber that looked like a fender would be a bolt on, maybe even a lowrider or something. Not sure what would fit.
I bought this Dyna already done. I have the original fender and am thinking of switching back. Also, the side mount license plate keeps me from putting on saddle bags. I might just move the plate to the fender, but it really is cool the way its already done. decisions..decisions...decisions...
How wide is 2005(and older ones)FXDWG rear fender? And is there any difference between newer than 2000 models and older ones? (I don't like the looks of an 2006WG fender...)
I'm thinking about togeta new (or used. Anyone out there, who who would like to sell me one?)rear fenderfor my St.Bob, but I'd like to know ifI have to widen FXDWGs fender... I have already shortened the original Bob fender, but for the next summer I would like to try something else.[sm=smiley1.gif]
All 06 - 08 fenders should be interchangable. The 05 and later fender will not fit the new frames witout some major modding. The frames on the 05s andearlier are narrower, therefore the fenders are and inch or so narrower.

Yes, I know that these "older" fenders need some or more moddind to fit my bike, but I've read from somewhere that 2005 and later fendersare 8"(app. 203mm)wide. That means, thatit's only a few millimeters(2006 Bobs fender is 210mm)narrower than newer ones, and I'm quite sure that I don't have to at least widen it. But I'm not sure if that 8" is correct... So if its not too much trouble, could someone who owns 2005 or later FXDWG, measure his bikes rear fender? I would appreciate that a lot... [sm=hail.gif]
