no parka for me! yes, i got issued one, but we all use gortex now. mostly just the new guys wear the parkas until they get issued or buy the gortex.
i know where missoula is. my wife has a bunch of family all over MT. we've been out to billings, to see her grandmother, a bunch of times, and to red lodge, wolf point, ft. peck, butte, kalispell and a few other placestoo... usually we head through williston, sidney, glendive and miles city.
i'll try to keep warm up here.i'll alsotry to keep my bike warm in the garage until the weather warms up next spring...
HEY maybe worry about pulling the guts out of the cruise missles before how fast water freezes, heh heh. J/K
I did spend a summer at KI Sawyer near Marquette MI with my sister and brother in law in '72. For me it was more like a summer vacation.
I spent too many years there, 78-85. I don't miss a single thing about it. Right now it's 86 degrees in Houston. I'm getting ready to go out for a ride.
Minot has gotten a lot more "stuff" even in the 4 years I've been here. I've heard stories and seen pictures of how it was when you all were here...I can't EVEN imagine it! It's gotten a lot better. The mall has all your normal stores, you have all your normal fast food places, normal resturants, a Super Wal-Mart, etc... I don't mind it here all that much. Don't get me wrong, the winters do SUCK ***, but the summers are nice. It's turned out to be a good place to raise my daughter. Seeing as how I reenlisted, it looks like I'll be up here for at least another 4 years...might as well shut up and color, ya know?

Ha ha ha... I used to load those very same nukes (I guess opsec is out the window now, eh) there at minot. So many people from different shops had to f**k up for that to happen. It almost makes me think that someone wanted that fiasco to take place. Oh well, that's for another forum to discuss.
Up in Minot... is Ebineezer's irish pub still there? I used to play drums in the house band there. Blues and jazz type stuff with your typical "bar band" music as well.
For me in '76 it was either Minot, ND or Spangdahlem, Germany. I went to Germany. Seems like everyone in SAC and working the B-52s had to do a stint in Minot.
I lived most of my life in Bismarck (100 miles south of Minot) and now live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. First comment I made when we moved here was how much less the wind blows and how much "milder" the winters are here.
Did that myself a few years back while ice fishing on Lake of the Woods. Had heard of it before but never tried it till the morning we woke up and it was 55 degrees below zero without the windchill. Pretty cool when you see it in person.
Well, the whole fiasco up here is pretty crazy. Just so you all know, I'm a Crew Chief; an aircraft maintainer! Not being on PRP, Ihave NOTHING to do with all that went down.
Yes, Ebineezer's is still here. I live on N. Main, a few blocks from it.
