This isn't a video ofme, but I think EVERYONE stationed here has tried this at one point or another...DAMN, a couples months before this sh*t is back once again...5th winter I've been here for, and just so you know, it's something you NEVER get used to!
I spent 4 years at Minot AFB, '79-'83. The winter of '82 we had 45 straight days of below 0*. The ambient temp never rose above 0*, wind chills were -30 to -70 It sucked!!! Had to work on the flightline servicing Jets up to -55*. Haven't been back since and not likley to anytime soon.

Same here. I don't ever want to go back. I believe that video was made in base housing. The old crappy part.But I havn't been to Minot in four or five years.
Yes, it's in the 4 plex section. All of which are almost gone now. I used to live on Sirocco, but bought a house downtown about a year ago. I spent MANY days/nights on that freezing flightline working on the jets. I was in A/R (R&R, which ever you prefer) for 3 years, and have been in Phase for the rest of my time here. Not too happy about being in Phase, but it is kind of nice working ina warm dock during the winter though...
devils haircut - We're actually getting a new BX finally! They've actually begun the construction on it...I'm sure you heard it every year you were here, that they were going to do it, but never did...
Anyway, nice to run into others who have spent some time here...
Up in Minot;
Wow... that brought back memories! I was in the U.S.A.F. in Minot from 1974 to 1976. And your right the winters were a bitch.
I remember that I had a really nice girlfriend from Minot that kept me warm in the winters. (I've often wondered how her life turned out...she was very fine). Anyway, Missoula, Mt. is in the Northwest U.S.A. so the temperatures here are more like Washington (very mild winters, but still winter) but nothing compared to N.D. or Minn. . Keep your parka zipped up!
