Anyone know if the HD Triple Platinum Performance Plugs come pre-gapped?
These are configured and designed (likely by SplitFire) to enhance fuel economy, increase hp, and produce a more steady idle.
I had a set of these in my Honda Accord that made a huge enough difference that I would not have believed if I had not seen it for myself. They delivered on every promise.
If they can do that for a steady, 4 cyl, automobilemotor, I'll bet they could only enhance the TC96 on my Dyna.
Have not gapped a plug since many years ago. I assume these are set to install right out of the box...
They might be "supposed" to be pre-gapped, but I'd double check 'em, justfor piece of mind. No telling what kind of handling they went thru to get to the stealer's. You know what's recommended by the MoCo? Have tolook up my manual to see the proper gap.
Yes, they do come with a pre gap. (Although it never hurts to double check) I use the Screamin' Eagle plugs in my 08' Dyna as well as my 99' Sportster. The engine will run a bit smoother, fuel mileage will go up a tad, and you will also fell a slight perfomance increase.
I put a set in my scoot and checked the gap, 0.042. Runs just fine, fires right up. Want to get a set of yellow plug wires, precut, with the black boots. Not seen any for the fuel injection ignition yet. I've seen the yellow with yellow boots, but I don't like those.
I'm using the SE tripple platinum plugs & SE 8mm plug wires on my 07 Streetbob and I'm happy with both. Plugs came pre-gapped but I checked 'em anyway. Bike starts easier too.
