I'm considering getting an FXD. I could buy a used '07 with about 1800 miles on the clock at a shop nearby. The warranty would run out in September. Or I could spend 2 grand more and buy a new one that comes with a 3 year factory warranty (here in Japan).
I'm wondering if any minor changes/fixes have been made to the '08, and whether it's worth paying the extra 2 grand to a new bike with a 3 year warranty, or just get the used '07 and spend the 2K savings on mods.
Ah, think you mean FXD, but in any case only minor differences according to the HD website - a/c cover, etc. Believe the standard factory warranty is 2 years unless dealer is adding in the extended warranty (which could also be added to the '07 I think). The '07 is used so you probably could get them to sharpen their pencils a bit more, maybe throw in the extended warranty and parts/mods you want at a discount.
I should've mentioned that I'm in Tokyo and from this year H-Ds come with a three year warranty to keep even with BMW and stay ahead of the Japanese makers, who now offer 2 year warranties. H-D prices are several grand more here compared to stateside so they can afford the extra coverage lol...
According toAI magagine the only differences betweeen '07 and '08 FXDs are the a/c cover and braided brake lines. I bought an '07 and took the savings ...

You forgot another new feature: "Hollow Axles". Well worth any extra money spent.
Uhhh, I don't really know what hollow axles do for me, except I can look through them. (lighter weight maybe?)
