I'm hijacking my own thread at this point but what the heck....
Chip, was the fork removal complicated or did you basically follow the maintenance manual? i've never tackled something like that but i'm an engineer by trade and i'm not retarded when it comes to technical skills. those powder coated forks really bring out the rest of the color in the bike.

Not complicated at all and pretty straight forward and logical, Service Manual helps though. Sounds like you shouldn't have any problems. Good luck!
Yeah, I'm between the Big Radius and the Short Shots. Love the look and the priceof the SS's but I don't want it to be too loud. Mainly because I don't want neighbors complaining.
If you stay off the throttle, it's not bad at all. I, too, live in a very quiet rural neighborhood at the end of the road and have to drive close by my neighbors who are far from bikers (LOL), and they all think it's cool I have a harley - or at least they haven't complained, just kinda smile and wave. I do manage to get a few dogs barking at me, though! Might've helped that I've been driving by them all the time for the last 6 years in my 32 Ford hot rod! Guess they kinda expect it!
I'm right there with ya.. i live in a neighborhood where its "house - driveway - house driveway" so me cranking up the bike at 7am to head to work could be an issue... however lucky for me 3 of my neighbors have bikes and one guy cranks his heritage up at 6am. I had V&H slip ons on my 05 EG Classic and those never caused a complaint. so i'm thinking i'm ok either way as i long as i don't try to hit the rev limiter going up my street!
Thanks for your expertise Chip. I'll probably go with the short shots and if I don't like them I'll put them on ebay and buy another set. On the other hand I don't like some of my neighbors anyways.
