Ok fellas...yesterday I was at my local HD Dealer to pick up a few things and finally got to check out the '08 bikes. I gotta say out of every line they make, this year the Dyna's really kick butt. They have the raciest looks of all and their lines are really flowing, especially the Fat Bob. Sat on one and it was a super sporty feel. Love how the MoCo has filled the back in on the whole Dynaline with the wider rear tires. And the colors on all thefamilies in their lineupare sharp. But I got to say that this year, the Dyna Low Rider and Fat Bob just seem to be the hottest bikes in my eyes with the exception of the Dyna CVO. Just my observations.....

Warrior, I like the way you worded that -
..........................Sat on one and it was a *super sporty* feel.
You gonna trade in the SportSter,
or keep it too??
If you're really into riding, andare excludingbaggers, there are really only two serious HDs out there ~ the Dynas and V-Rods ~ and my Dyna has been a bulletproof example of two wheeled pleasure for the past 7 1/2 years!
No real plans on trading in the near future. Just an observation I made when I sat on it. Didn't mean it felt like a "Sportster" per se, just meant the bike had a racey feel to it. When I do decide to trade up, I'm keeping the Sportster. It's paid off, and I dropped a lot of coin into it. that I could never get back. Would like to get something that I can ride two up comfortably.

Friday I traded down to a new '08 FXD. I traded a '07 Ultra and '06 ElectraGlide Standard for the new Dyna. Back in '05 I owned a new FXD. I took my first trip from Oregon to Sturgis on it that year. I must say it was one of the best bikes I have owned. I've put about 79 miles on this bike since Friday evening. My home is here in the Southern Oregon Cascades, so I have plenty of twisty back roads to ride on. I managed to knock my foot off the right peg yesterday while making a 25 mph curve at 48 mph. Yes I did say a couple of exciting words when it happened. One of the things I noticed, is that the motor is quite compaired to my FLH motors. There isn't any mechanical sounds, almost creepy to have a Harley so quite. The tranny is smooth, no noise; I didn't have tranny noise on my FLH bike either. I did have the heat problem and engine noise, till I installed a TFI on both glides. This new FXD seems to be running cool. I can actually place the back of my hand on the primary cover and feel it's just warm after a long ride. I know I'm not to lug the engine, but wanted to see if I could get into 6th gear below 40 mph. Yep, it can be done without bucking .. but don't.
One of the coolest things is that I never left home to buy or pick up this bike.
I got on the internet Wednesday night and sent an inquiry to Dan at Latus Motors about the FXD and my trades.
Got a email reply from him on Thursday. After another reply from me, Dan called me at home.T told him what I'd like for my trades and what I thought the new bike was worth. Friday morning he called back and said he could make the deal happen with my numbers. So then I had to deliver my bikes to Latus a 140 miles away. I was debating renting a trailer, taking measurements of the bikes and the back of my little Colorado. While I was doing this, I got another call fron Dan at Latus Motors. He said the dealership would like to deliver my bike and pick up my trades. Whoo hoo! That just saved me a 100 bucks. The finance papers were brought by my wifes work in another town and then delivered here to my home. Latus must be a DMV dealer too, cause they installed the new plate on my new bike for me. This new internet age is cool!
I love the way this bike handles and can feel it has plenty of power. Just wanted to tell you my story.
And ... another call from Dan at Latus Motors asking how I like the bike came as a suprise .. the othere dealers around never checked in. He aslo is sending me a couple of t-shirts. Hope that are long sleeve and not T's. It's freezing up here this morning.. [sm=yikesomg.gif]
