i got the terminal velocity II and just love it! no need to remap your ecm with this. the bike just pulls and pulls. a very noticeable difference IMHO

with your additional, you should be able to have a local HD shop just change your stock EMC map with another base map. As you get into other upgrades you will need something more. I personally am using a SERT. I have also heard that the Thunder-Max is a great system and replaces your stock ECM.

This topic has been beaten to death over the pastcouple months...[sm=deadhorse.gif]
...do a search...alot of great info already typed out by extremely knowledgable members & very recent threads. In a nutshell, a SERT is the best possible way to go. Read the other threads, you'll see why.

This is one of the most important mods you can make and there are a lot of choices. From my research there is no clear cut "best tuner". But something needs to be done because, for the very least; to get these bikes from runnig so hot (lean). Improve exhaust or air cleaner and it just makes it run even hotter/leaner. I'm leaning towards the SERT only because I have the extended warranty and the SERT is HD and less likely for the dealer to blame any problems on. You do need to find a good Dyno tuner and will probably have to have it dyno'ed.

Another SERT user here. From what I've heard the SERT is the only one that allows you to adjust your stock ECM.The others either bypass it, replace it or piggy back onto it allowing you to add fuel to specific RPM ranges.Another nice thing about the SERT is that it leaves no tell tale hardware behind that might be a warranty issue down the road.

V&H's Fuelpak vote here. The SERT would most likely be the way to go. (but) If you're looking to go inexpensive, and don't plan on doing much else to the bike other than the most common; pipes, A/C and maybe some cam work, I'd suggest the Fuelpak. I have it on my '08 FXDC (along with V&H Slip-on's and a S/E Stage 1 A/C), and the bike went from "Nice Harley" (stock), to "Now this is what I'm talkin' about!" (after the mods mentioned above), in about 4 hours and for about $650, all done by me, in my garage... If I want to hange stuff later on, I will not need a different SERT, and I'll never need a Dyno. I'll just email the V&H's techs, and they'll give me the values I'll need to input. If I ever have an issue with the bike, and I get worried that my mods might affect the warranty, I'll just take the Fuelpak out, slap the stock A/C, and stock pipes back on, and there will be no signs that I ever had the "extras" on there. The ECM doesn't know the Fuelpak's there, it just "piggy backs" off of it.

Honestly, my bike went from stock to the mods, and I'll NEVER look back!!! More power, better throttle response, and the sound is INCREDIBLE!

As others have stated, it's up to you what you decide to do to your bike, in the end... Whatever you choose, you'll be happy you did. They are ALL better than the stock set-up...

I have the Terminal Velocity II also... Same experiencewith it& Definately not disappointed. Simply "Plug N Play" No Dyno needed... it reads at like 500 times a sec. and compensates for any changes. You can change pipes, air cleaners and well... pretty much anything short of changing stroke, pistons, or heads (not sure, but I think cams are included in the group too). Also... if you do change any of that, they tell you to get the factory update and plug it back in... It'll work just as before, fine tuning the motor.

Another vote for the T.V. II.
