Gremlins?!!!!
My bike started as soon as I switched on the "run" switch today and the starter stayed engaged! Good thing I make a point of pulling in the clutch early in my starting procedure or I probably would have dumped it. I shut it off right away and tried again. Same thing! So I pushed and released the "start" button several times. No Change. Pushed and released the "run" button several times. No change.
So I started my "Trail of tears" to the Dealer right away. The starter still going! About a quarter mile and I heard it disengage! I pulled over and started it a bunch of times normally.
I could not get it to malfunction again so I continued my ride.

I admit I did ride it for a short time while engaged.[sm=bustedsign.gif] Probably not the smartest thing I've done.[sm=icon_quiet.gif] I was kinda hoping that the rpm's and bumps would knock it loose.[sm=massbounce.gif] Maybe it did. I would hope that sooner or later my common sense would have kicked in and pull over before my bike went up in flames. I had to ty something.[sm=confused06.gif]

Man you guys are tough. Good thing I got a thick skin. Guess I gotta quit my job at the Stealer now. Naw, maybe I'll put in for that assistant managers job. [sm=trust_me.gif]
