Starter button
Even though the dealer cleaned the switch, it might not be enough, and you'll need to replace the switch. With sporadic problems, especially, and even on those that aren't, keep in mind that chasing the problem down might mean that the dealer has to use the 'shotgun approach'...that is, replace things until the problem is solved. Once you install an electrical component, it's all yours. You just don't take it off, put it back in the box, and sell it to someone else as 'new'. Hopefully, your dealer 'splains that to you upfront so that if the first thing doesn't work, and you want to complain about spending money on something that didn't work, he'll be able to say, 'well, I told you about that up front, you said go ahead, so jump back, Jack!'...
You might already know this, so if you do, I'm not trying to be a smart aleck, just sayin'...
these are about $30- a few screws, no wiring
the plunger is pressed to engage the starter- it kinda bypasses the starter button, wiring, starter relay- although that stuff is still there in place
if you have electrical aptitude, you can trace through the starter primary circuit and do a fix as would the dealer- but the plunger really is a slick trick.
