hey, it's a free country - all the thread said was "beware"

Do what you want at your own risk.

Reading all the posts so far, I'm obviously not the only one who has experienced this.

It would also be quite different if they had admitted the mistake and/or made even the slightest attempt at trying to resolve it. They would only reply that it was my own and ebay's problem, not theirs, then threatened legal action against ME for harrassing THEM about correcting the fact that the payment WAS made, and they never argued that it wasn't.

I also just found out that the strike Ebay gave me was removed because I presented the paypal proof, but ACM got their final value fee credited back to them as a result of closing the dispute. That either means the fee for listing the item was credited, or the cost of the item was credited. Either way, they got more money because of something dishonest, and at the expense of my aggravation and ebay reputation.

Go ahead, do all the business with them that you wish...I really don't think they are the type of business I want to give my hard-earned cash to.

Hey, I know where you're coming from, no problem. When I get hosed by any of them, it will be the last time I do business with them also. So far, it hasn't happened.

I also have done business with a lot of other e-commerce businesses that I've never seen any complaints on, and continue to do so.

ACM has taken heat from many I'veseen over the years on this and other forums. The link I stuck in my previous response was the first I had heard about problems with Eastern Performance.

I'm surprised you had so much trouble with them. I have bought from them about 5 or 6 timesin the past year or two and never had a problem. Always received items as described with prompt shipment. MaybeI was one of the lucky ones. That kind of **** is very aggrevating and it always seems hard to get resolved. Try Eastern Performance, theyhave comparable prices and often free shipping.
and right below this thread is another one regarding what a-holes Eastern Performance are. I've spentmany peso's with both companies and received
good service from both of them, so I will continue to do business with them
based on MY experiences until I experience poor business practices with either.

I have never bought from them but have considered it. That is until I checked their feedback carefully. Most people have good experiences with them but god forbid if you don't. They won't seem to work with you and even if you give them a neutral because they did not even have the part you ordered they will slam you with a neg, a really nasty neg. It will always be a crap shoot with them. Gamble that it will go smoothly if you want. 98% of the time you will be okay. But obviously if you don't they will treat you like **** and slam you with a neg. That is a bunch of crap. I won't do business with someone like that just out of principle if not out of common sense.

I bought a Mustang Regal Touring Seat for my Electra Glide.....with sucess. It was an Ebay/paypal item. The seat was priced very nicely and about a $100 less than anyone else. Seat came just fine......

My only real complaint is......why did it take them so long to ship it. They said the seat was in stock.....if it was in stock.....Why did it take them four days to finally ship it from their place? I orded the item on a Monday morning....but they didn't ship it until Thursday evening.

I probably won't deal with them again though......JP cycles and Dennis Kirk is a little more. But, I really do appreciate customer service. Dennis Kirk will beat everyone elses price by one dollar.....they've already proved that to me.

Default RE: American Classic Motors: AN HONEST EFFORT

I just received a personal phone call from American Classic Motors. The representative, let's call him "Joe" was very courteous, professional, and understanding.

I will be the first person to ever admit when something that was wrong, has at least been attempted to be made right - this is one of those times.

He admitted that while the e:mail exchanges were not ideal, and never really addressed the core issue I was being aggravated with, the bottom line was that the core of this issue's fault lies with Ebay and Paypal. Both companies (IMHO) have become too large to address small customer service issues as they used to when I first became a member years ago.

I believe still more could have or should have been done to make this right on ACM's part, but at least in the end my own tenacity saw to it that ebay made things right for me, and the fact that ACM took the time to call, explain, apologize, and commit to doing better, speaks volumes for any business trying to please the customer.

If you notice most of the time when you search for a part on Ebay that ACM comes up usually with the lowest prices, then at least they are trying to give all of us more bang for our buck. So long as you make payment for anything outside of Paypal, I do not believe your experience will be anything but positive.

interesting that they obviously read these posts ... I'm not convinced that I would use them over one of the good companies I have dealt with though ... even for a few % cheaper.

Oh yeah, HEY ACM: You never did leave any feedback for me. Maybe a little positive feedback to my ebay profile would be good karma....
