it would be nice if it worked like that but they is always some other idiot willing to pay at new price or more just so they have the feeling that they won. i think some of them think its like a card game and keep raising the limit till time runs out then it hits them i payed how much!!!! i could of went and bought it new by the time i pay shipping. some people just wasn't standing in line when god was handing out common sense i guess. oh sorry about the rant.

Critter, you're right about people thinking they are at a card game or something. I've seen stuff go on ebay for over dealer cost, and think, "what an idiot", but like you said, they won.
And the shipping, don't get me started there. Some items have a shipping cost of more than the part is worth, unbelievable. But then again, they won.
The tank was a "want", not a "need", if I can pick it up cheap, great, if not, oh well.
There was no way I was going to pay the"Devils" price, so why fight. And he was honest and put a top price of $180, butlost it to another guy who went above his top bid.

The high shipping price is how they cheat eBay. eBay doesn't get a percentage of the shipping price. Ya always got to check the shipping charge and bid accordingly.
Then there was the time I sold an old cordless drill for $8, with a flat shipping fee of $5. Don't you know some knuckle head in Hawaii bought it! No lie. Cost me more to ship it than everything he paid me. Lol.
