Clunk!!
Every so often I hear a clunk from the front end when I hit a bump in the road but I am unable to determine where it comes from. I have heard, on other forums, that this may be a common occurence with the Dyna family. Has anybody here had the same problem and how did you fix it? or not.
I haven't heard this clunk...but I am curious since I just got a LowRider last month. Does it occur when the forks extend or push in? I wonder if the sound is the forks hitting a stop if they extend out too quickly???

Thanx for the input guys, it's gonna rain here this weakend so I gues I'll spend time lookin' for it. The dealer says there ain't any problem but then what you expect them to say?
The clunk only happens sometimes and, as you all most likely know, it is reel hard to find an intermittent problem. [:@]

this was [is?] a common problem with wide glides ONLY. two schools of thougt on the fix. add an extra oz. of oil [S.E. oil preferably] to each leg. this is from a book called " 101 H.D. performance projects" by kip woodring, published in 1999 and deals with evo motors. this worked on my 98 WG,although i still get it once in a blue moon on a SHARP bump. i have also read on other forums about tightening the fork stem nut to 75 ft lbs or more after applying some anti-sieze, and then re-adjusting steering head bearing. supposedly harley has upped the torque specs from 40 lbs. on later models and this is probably what they will do if you bring it to the dealer. do it your self!!!
