HOT ROD PARTS! Do, at a minimum Stage I, 2-1 pipes, bolt-in cam and a good tune. There's quite a bit of power in there that can be woke up with a decent cam. I personally have gone a bit more extreme and now am moving to the more cosmetic stage.

Congratulations on the new ride. You might not notice now but will in the hot weather - new harleys run VERY hot. To meet EPA emissions requirements, they are leaned out pretty much as far as an air-oil cooled engine can run without total meltdown. We can't blame HD for this - rather thank them for managing to meet these stringent standards and keeping the venerable air cooled vtwin alive. You might also notice some surging at very small throttle openings, just off idle, etc. It can be really problematic in stop and go traffic or maneuvering at low speeds. Stage I downloads aren't bad but don't deal with the issues entirely. Something like a power commander where the air-fuel ratio islowered produces a richer mixture across the band, producing more power, much less heat and eliminates the stumbling when the correct map/tuning is downloaded. Also, running a good synthetic helps somewhat - even an oil cooler. I really believe that with the heat generated in stock tune, if not addressed, will seriously shorten the lives of these motors in the stock state of tune - time will tell. My .02 or should I say 1.50...
