Hi all, I just purchased a 2008 Fat Bob and have put about 700 miles on it since Oct 14. I would like your opinions/advise on how to get the most out my HD.
First, Congratulations on the new acquisition. Glad to hear you're not using it for *** jewelry, as someone once told me. Next, always be aware of your surroundings, cagers(car drivers) will never see/hear you. ALWAYS assume they will do something stupid in front of you. Keep a eye on all nuts, bolts, fasteners, thay'll all get loose after a while. Ride, enjoy, repeat as necessary.
right behind you on mileage, well almost 380 on the clock. like the looks of the stock exhaust but im much happier with the sound and looks of the short shots. have to say the more i ride the fatbob the more i like it. glad i got it!
Ride it like you stole it is all the advice I can offer at the moment.
I finally realized why the picture of "your" bike was taken in a field......... when are you going to give the bike back to the owner??[sm=happy046.gif]
My advise is to take it easy and get to know it, get a good feel for the bike, become one with it............. then drop it.[sm=noooo.gif]
Getting the most out of it? Ain't gonna happen, it's gonna get the most out of you! LOL
Only advice I have is put your money on performance mods first - suspension, pipes, intake, fuel management, dyno tune. That should eat up a big enough chunk of $$ for a while.
I got mine Monday 80 miles already. Mind you I put 25k on a Sporty in less than two years. I can't believe the 6th gear wow. Break in is such a drag. There is now way I could wait longer than two weeks to break mine in. Should have the first stage done by Sunday. I made the right choice with the Dyna Model.
