Yup pretty straight forward - depending on the one you get the wiring can be a puzzle - mine fit right over the stock location I but needed to drill a second hole as it had 2 bolts coming off it. Got mine on ebay for $10, supposedly NOS but can't tell you who made it for sure - there are a few options in the J&P catalog and Harley has one for the Softail Deluxe (and a couple of other models).

Thanks Doug - I've been giving grumpy a break for a while - up to 6 pages now, it's way more attention than he deserves!
I don't think Grumpy thought it would go that far, and actually a few nice mini threads within the big mess.

I can see one of those tail lights hangin on the back of my Dyna in a few years, maybe. Gives it a classic look.
Great c-man - good decision! Glad I could help ya out.
Bought mine before I ever had the bike - just needed the right canvas to wrap around the tail light! Then the Moco came out with the St Bob and it was a no brainer (for me anyways)! I've even seen some on rear fenders that were cut back (bobbed) and the light mounted up higher sorta at a 45 degree angle - didn't think I'd like it if not vertical, but it worked for that bike.
