Depending how wide you want to go, you might want to look into a wide tire kit.

I went up one size on my fxlr and there is probably enough to go one more size also.

My dealer said I could go to a 150, but he said the wider tire will wear out faster...[sm=dontgetit.gif]

The late model Dynas came with a 150 mm standard, that's about as wide as you can go on the stock rim. Metzler makes a 160 mm, but 10 mm won't make a noticeable difference. Any wider than that will mean some real wrenching and a new wheel at minimum. as far as a 150 wearing faster? Haven't seen any indication of that on my '04 yet.

I've got a '98 Superglide and I went up one size larger (probably could have gone up 2) with no trouble at all. Above that you'd need the wide tire kit that Harley is extremely proud of. I guess if you really wanted to go phat you could get a new swingarm and put a car tire back there...HA! On a side note - I went with the Metzler 880's this time and I'm loving em! Good traction and the the wrench that put them on told me that he's seeing better wear out of these than the original Dunlops.
