Default Raked tripple trees

hey guys!! i was on ebay snoopin around and found St. Paul HD has 41 mm Pro One Raked triple trees for wide glides...best part is the retail price is $429.99.. They have them for 180.00...thats a deal...my question is other than rendering the stock security fork lock useless, is there anything else to wory about with rake triple trees? they come in 3 and 7 degree variations...what wold be the results to a stock rake with the two? does it make a 28 a 31? any info wold be nice..thanks all..

$180 is about right, you shop around and you can find them all day long for under $200. I have a set of 5 degrees on my wide glide and they are perfect. One thing I will tell you is that if you rake that front, drop the rear and you will have no wobble or shake. Mine is raked at about 38 degrees total with a 2 inch drop in the rear and she is arrow straight at 110.

Say, are you using the stockfork tubes or extended ones?
So are you saying the stock rake on your WG is 33 degrees before the tubes?
Or are you factoring in the lowering of the rear contributing a couple of extra degrees to the rake?
My 07 FXD is stock at 29 degrees and I am about to install some 5 degreeAcutronix trees as we speak.
Problem is that when I do the calculations, I need to run 6 over fork tubes just to get back to a 3.2 trail.
and that is factoring in using a 21" wheel in thefront and lowering the rear about 1.5" by using 11" shocks.
Do you have any PIcs? I would love to see a Dyna with 5 degree trees with or without extended tubes.
THX
Mike
