That's good to know - I've seen the feedback that he does ship fast and his "store" says he ships items same day or next day if purchased late.

I pm'd you back Cornish. I wasn't clear on your response. Both Navy and I are interested in the big sucker kit. Does it or does it not either come with a cover that fits it or come with what is needed to fit the stock a/c cover to it? If not, can you recommend something that we could get our hands on ASAP. I'm fine with the football but I'm not "married" to it. I also emailed Rob's about getting a kit for navy and to ask the same question I just asked you.

I echo Navy's thoughts - I do love this place.

Its the best forum bar none. You can,t fit a stock cover with a Big Sucker kit, but you can buy the kit with an end plate, or buy the end plate seperate. I,d recommend havinga look on the Arlen Ness website or Custom Chrome where you can se the choices.

Thank you sir! Nice looking bike and A/C cover you have on yours. Not to knit-pick but a laydown license plate frame would set your bike off nicely. http://www.jirehcycles.com/

Ok, I need all my bro's help on this one.[]

It all started out when I put the bike away for winter. Figured it was a great time to do those "little" things in the warmth and protection of my basement. New headlight, plug wires, put the solo seat backon....it all somehowculminated in my purchasing Vance & Hines Straightshot Slipons - at a sweet price - and I now have an appointment at the stealer for Saturday to get the SE air cleaner and the download to my ECM.

At first I thought the A/C and the download would take 5 minuts and run me like a buck fifty. Then I find out the download alone (with module, cd, chart) will be close to $500.00 bucks!

I do know I can run the slip-ons with no other mods and no download....at least most will agree with that. But I guess after seeing the dyno chart associated with what the combo of the new pipes and A/C could do with a Stage I dowload, I got all hot and bothered.

Bottom line is: Is what I will end up with in sound, performance, engine longevity and all going to be worth the $$ in the end?

V&H pipes: $209 including shipping. Self installed.
SE Stage I Air Cleaner: $139
ECM download, module, chart and cd: $469
Free Dyno-Tune

Total: about $800.00[&o]
Not to mention voiding your warranty and then having to pay for what would have been covered by it in the future. Even the Harley SE Race Tuner install voids the factory warranty.
Ah, no. SERT does not void the warranty.

Get the flash Stage I download ($150), cheap slipons, and your air cleaner (which you can keep for later).
Agreed. I paid $100 for used off-road SEIIs, $180 for the Stage 1 download including labor, and will spend $139 for the SE hi-flow AC. That's around $320 for a whole lot more scooter that will hold me till the warranty runs out and I can get cams and head work done.

Tim - Sounds like you made up your mind, but .... some things to think about:

The "module" above likely is the SERT, and I don't think you don't need the separate cost of a download if you purchase SERT and get them to dyno it at the same time.

SERT is actually a better way to go IMO, especially if you ever decide later to get a different non-V&H full exhaust system.

The head engine tech/guru at your dealer (assume it's Nashua) is the dyno man (ask for him) - cute girl will know who you mean! He's excellent and got tremendous results for me when he dyno'd the bobstah in Sept. In fact, talk to him first for advice, and he'll give it to you straight. They really are honest there from my experience, but ya gotta ask the right questions to the right people!! A separate dyno tune by him costs $150 regardless how long it takes if you have the SERT (not sure about dyno with a Power Comander or V&H Fuel management unit).

Now, the best part is over Thanksgiving weekend they have a 20% off sale! So you'll save on the SE Stage 1 intake (and do get the K&N filter - they carry them I believe) and the SERT. Also a good time to dump your football a/c cover and buy something else.

Chip

Wow, can't add much, except I paid HD about $150.00 for the stg 1 download and it is working fine. I put on K&N A/C and cycleshacks my own self.; runs fine. good luck. I need to read all the other comments in this thread since I am going to V&H sideshots in Feb and planning on the fuel pack,

I use the Rev Tech DFO so I can re adjust for every change . Now I do not know if a factory re map will keep up with four pipe changes to get the correct sound, air cleaner change. and now a new set of plugs and wires, and yes I will have to re adjust for that.

Really? I wasn't aware the Rev Tech would allow for that level of tweaking. Interseting...
