ok now i have a headache! i finally narrowed it down to the fuelpack for my new fat bob, but talking to the v&h tech he says that i need to use a high flow a/c. i in no way shape or form want to replace my existing stock air cleaner housing, do they make a high flow air cleaner that fits my housing? for some reason i can't seem to find one. just one of those days i suppose..

Where were you yesterday dude? haha
Flynavy and I were finally convinced to not continue to run our V&H pipes with stock everything else so we decided to buy a fuelpak. When I talked to the V&H tech, he said not to run a fuelpak without a high-flow a/c. So, we both bought the same thing yesterday and are waiting for it to arrive. There are some other posts you could look for. The tech told me they test the fuelpaks on bikes with the HD SE stage 1 a/c. You can use your stock cover on that but you lose the backing plate (not a problem). After some due dilligence, I've also discovered that you can run the stock cover over the Alren Ness big sucker kit as well - also without the backing plate. Or K&N also makes a kit you can use the stock a/c with. He and I bought the "big sucker" kits but any of thosewill do according to V&H's.
AN Big Sucker!!! The stock cover will fit the Stage 1 AN BS. (btw, get it with the chrome backing plate). Much better design than the SE AC. I have both and the AN is a much better design, especially the breather system.

That's the one I ordered - on ebay - here is the link. Email the guy, he has more.
... i in no way shape or form want to replace my existing stock air cleaner housing,
Did you mean the cover or the whole assembly (e.g. backing plate, breather stuff, etc.)? I've not seen any high flow A/C assembly that was almost totally sealed like the stock units - that's part of the problem. Allof the high flow units are almost totally open behind the cover to promote more air flow. On the other hand, most of the after market A/C units will use the stock cover. I personally can vouch for the K&N 3909 unit from a performane and ease of installation standpoint if you are looking for input.

Cheers,

Doug is right. I hope I made that clear in my earlier reply. You can use the stock cover - the chrome piece - on most of these aftermarket a/c's but that black plastic backing plate that the cover normally seals up against will be gone. That should not really be any issue though - you can't tell unless you are looking for it.
