I've purchased a new Street Bob. I'll bee riding mostly solo (and then I'll use the solo seat), but somtimes have a passenger (my wife). I've heard that the passenger pillion might scratch up the fender.I had a stock 2-up seat on my sporty and the fender looked like new, even after6 years. So what should I do? Buy a 2-up seat for theSB or the passenger pillion? I guessit would be just as easy to remove a 2-up seat and mount the solo-seat, as it would be to take on/off the passenger pillion.
Its easier to remove the two up seat . Remove seat bolt to remove either ,pillion would have two bolts to remove that join them together that you will have to be remove also. You will need a fender nut to leave in place when solo and mounting tabfor rear of the two upseat also .
Personally, I would buy the 2-up seat. The pillions I've see all seem loose and not
as stable as a 2-up. I believe it's actually easier to remove the 2-up than the pillion but don't really know. I don't ride 2-up anymore so my thoughts aren't worth a whole lot on the subject.
I bought the passanger pillion and am going to get a two up seat. The pillion looks like crap it is not comfortable it is just as easy to change the two up seat.

+ 1
...though it supposedly matches and all, etc. etc., it doesn't look all that great. Save some money ('cause you'll replace it soon after anyway) andyourwife's rear end and go with the 2-up the first time around. Just my opinion.
I have a like-new Sundowner deep bucket two-up seat for sale on ebay if anyone's interested. The classified posting policy on hdforums won't allow me to post there, so I hope it isn't a problem mentioning it here. Seems relevant to the thread...
