Stage 1 isnt tuneing the bike.. Getting some Air/fuel to the Injectors makes a big differance in the way a bike sounds... IF yer looking for loud the rushes are louder...
Isn't that what a download or a tuner or even a fuelpak would be designed to do - customize the air/fuel mixture for the intake and exhaust being used? Sounds like tuning to me..
I have the "new" SE's on my '07 Street Bob (see pic)...I had to remove the fiberglass packing from around the baffles to make the bike actually sound like a Harley. Before that, they were as quiet as the stock mufflers. They have apleasant, deep sound now, but they are not at all "loud".
I'm replacing them with a set of Rushslip-ons.I'll take $150 + shippingfor the SE's, which have less than 200 miles on them and are in "as new" condition and packed in the original box. PM me if you are interested.

Yet another SE defector...
I had the SE II's before and they weren't enough for me. Wouldn't even consider the newer ones...
Only2 Dyna's left (06 Street Bob) and (04 Wide Glide) in the barn and they have Reinharts on them.. But thanks anyway ... I need one bike for early mornings and the New S/E's fit the bill... Which is what the original question was "Not Too Loud" ..
I love my slip ons... they tune real well with the race tuner...granted i bent out the baffel a bit but they are top notch in my book... i love how they look to be honest and with the headers wrapped it is exaclty what i like... i am going to put some black heat shields on them to take away from the bling but other than that i love them... i did have to stick it on the PC after i bent out the baffel as i was getting a bit or popping and back fire in decel but ooh well... plugged it in and good as new... i like them but wanted to get a bit louder, they sounded good before and with the baffels bent out they sound GREAT, but it is louder! just to warn you... i say go with them, people on here sell them all the time for cheap, then if she wants it louder bend out the baffel a bit more, if not keep it the way that they are and all is well...
TheScreaming Eaglepipes sound realy good on my 2008 Dyna Super Glide. They are loud enough but not too loud. I had some previous loud pipes before and they would bother my ears and give me a head ache during a long weekend ride. [X(]
