Guten tag.(?) This side of the pond, we do a 'low wave', one, two, or more fingers. or even a head nod if your clutch hand is busy. Just the acknowledgement, basically. Personally I do it for all bikers wether they run on gas or rice.
Here's a link to the fender on eBay. It could be a hell of a buy and its listed as a new fender. Look closely at the seller though. He has some blemishes in his record.

Argh, what a tease! I'd love to get that fender, IIRC new ones from H-D are ~ $200. I can't though - as far as bike-stuff's concerned, the bank's gone bust until the new year rolls around. [:'(].
But at least I ended up getting the exact bike I wanted ... why the heck aren't there more photos, ride reports, etc. of the Fat Bob on the interwebs?? Dont' these folks know I'm dying here? What's a poor guy who can't wait for his bike to arrive supposed to do in the meantime? Oh, the suffering ...
Disc locks are good if you want to deter the casual thief and make the bike slightly more difficult to steal.
The drawback is that it's easy to forget. You walk back to the bike, perhaps talking to somebody, you put your gloves and helmet on, get on the bike, try to ride off and smash the lock into the fork leg and wreck the disc. It's an expensive repair. I've seen it happen and I've very nearly done it myself.
krautrock... excellent choice onthe new bike. I just got the same thing and was also looking to replace the bobtail rear fender.
Can anyone confirm the Street Bob fender will fit? Doesn't the Street Bob have a 160 rear tire vs. the 180 on the Fat Bob? Willthere be any clearance issues?
BTW, if you get a disk lock, I'd also get a reminder cord. I've seen what happens to the disk when you forget.
I was thinking about buying two disc locks ... one for the front, and a second one for the rear. Two different models so the dedicated amateur won't be able to jack 'em with the same tool, and so I got one with a shackle to add a chain later on. Was thinking about these ...
Anyone know anything about this brand (OnGuard)? I like 'em because they don't look as obnoxious as the Kyptonite ones. Oh, are they small enough to be stuffed into a fork bag?

BUT there is a 180 rear tire kit for the Street Bob, and it doesn't include a rear fender. Hope that helps.
Gilly
Thinking through a bit more, it might actually be a better idea to contemplate if the classic round fender would fit a Wide Glide, I think that's the rear fender a Fat Bob has on it.
I'm going to stop by the parts desk at the stealer when I go to finalize the paperwork and pick up the bike ... would be great if you could simply slap on the SB's stock fender.
