Slicin' -n-lacin' kind of defeats the purpose. All kinds of debris will get in there.

I know this is a completely unrelated subject but what do you have on the top of your fork tubes between the triples are they painted?

ha ha ha that is what i asked him! it is a piece of gutter plastic that he cut and stretched to fit around the tubes! doesnt that look great!

it does look good, but i don't know if i can put plastic on my bike[sm=confused06.gif]
i was thinking of cutting some black leather and lacing it up the back on my upper forks.

I like this idea the best.But..when I was in the service the scout bikes were KLR 250s they came in white and had to be painted camoflage.For some reason they didn't want to paint the top of the fork tubes so they cut pieces of PVC pipe to length and fit them in between the triples they could then be painted easily to match the cammo pattern and paint sticks to PVC better than chrome.But like I said, I like the leather idea best.

I tried the pipe idea as it was something I had lying around . Leather would be cool also but I like the look of mine now , they fit perfect and you wouldn't know they were plastic most think they are coated !!!!

BEST OF ALL THEY POLISH UP AND I CAN MAKE ABOUT 5 REPLACEMENT SETS FOR $4
