I got one from Motherwells whenI ordered the rack. Why are you going through so many RonnR? The one I got has a a clip holding the nut onto the fenderand I've never had any problems losing it or anything.
Needed The 1st= I have no idea, I was washig the bike noticed the seat a little loose so I backed the screw out and the fender nut fell to the floor and down a drain pipe..(The little black plastic horseshoe no where to be found)..
Needed the 2nd= when I bought the motherswell
Needed The 3rd= the bike was falling off the lift and I grabed the edge of the seat to balance, and 'pop' there went that one...
The 4th is in the garage, in a drawer, just patiently waiting for its turn..
RR
Maybe there is a metal horseshoe to replace the plastic one. I will remove mine when I have time and take it to Home Depot, if someone beats me to it, let us know the part #.
I don't know if I should have but I found a teflon lock nut in my shop that fit the supplied bolt that came with the Motherwell Rack.
My wife was able to get her arm between the fender and the tire. She was able to hold it in place with a wrench until I was able to tighten it. I put a stainless flat washer between the teflon lock nut and the fender.
As long as the bolt when screwed into the nut isn't sticking out too far to maybe hit the tire when bottoming out on a bad bump or something then I imagine it should work fine.
You will just have to be careful if you ever unbolt it so that you don't lose the nut and washer.
