He chose (and customized) this motorcycle, a 1972 Harley-Davidson XR-750, because it was a light, dependable racing machine. Made of steel, aluminum, and fiberglass, it weighs approximately 300 pounds.
Sorry guys, Not a dyna...but its a harley.......Crazy stuff.
So long, Evel......what a great thing growing up in the 70's and watching this guy. I lived for those Saturdays on Wide World of Sports when they'd run a special on him or show him jumping. I always jumped my Evel Knievel wind up toy over crap, and then moved on to jumping my Huffy over stuff that should've really hurt me (and did). What a hero.
Very much enjoyed watching him in the 70âs. He came a long way from jumping over pits of live rattlesnakes to using a jet-powered ``Skycycle' to jump over the Snake River Canyon in Idaho. Robbie had a great mentor. Evel, you will truly be missed.
don! understand the hero part, ***** yes, but what did he do other than joe blow going to work at a factory, and raising kids, without drinking and cheatin, to me a hero is a firefighter , cop, or soilder who lays his or her life on line for us, entertainer he was a hero give me a break
When there was no cable t.v. and no computers we all watched wide world of sports on sat. Those were the good old days when everybody stayed together and watched one t.v. Now there is 600 cable channels and there is still nothing on at all with about 3 t.v.'s in the house.Ride on Evil
