When changing the seat on my Low Rider, is the nut in the rear fender "fixed" to the fender, or will I have to somehow reach above the tire and use a backup wrench? Or, will I have to remove the rear tire to change seats? Hate to sound so silly, but that's the only way I know to get answers...ask questions!

I have an 05 SuperGlide and the nut is fixed to the fender. Just replaced my seat with a Sundowner.

Thanks a lot! I was pretty sure that the nut was fixed, but wasn't 100%.

How do you like that Sundowner? I am leaning in that direction.....Jim

Just fitted a sundowner, great for the pillion , the nut is not fixed to the fender on the 06 it pushes in, when you change the seat , the sundowner fixing kit nut /large washers need to be held from underneath the mudguard , the passenger strap needs to go on the widest setting , with the sissy bar still on its a tight fit getting the new seat into the location and be careful of the paint on the rear fender , use rags .

It's a captive fastener swaged or welded into the back fender. no need to worry - it's like the nut is a part of the fender, it won't fall off or anything.
