Andy Rooney never said this... Captain Kangaroo was not a war heroin WWII... and so on and so on... I had to tell a bud to quit sending me this stuff that's been erroneously contributed to people who never said or did any of this.

The point wasn't who said it, the point was the message. Pretty quick to heat up krautrock,I thought the opening topic was about how someone was tired of being politically correct and trying not to offend? Guess it could have gone in the political section, but so could the original post and I didn't noticeyou heating over that. Guess I gotta earn my stripes....Will do, and I don't mind watching my P's and Q's in the mean time so I'll stick to bike talk and no more free speach for me. I'm not that much of a civil libritarian anyway.

fryddog, not heated at all - just my politically incorrect way of expressing that I'm thoroughly sick of "interest groups" suggesting how I should live my life. And I don't give two flying f*cks whether it's fundamental muslims, radical tree-huggers, communist dingleberries, or christian-/nationalistic nut cases ... zealots of any religious-/political orientation give me a skin condition.

And most importantly, I come here (= Dyna Glide Models) to read about bikes.

Btw, ... I'm all for "politically incorrect", the pc crowd can suck me 24hrs a day. Assuming it applies to everybody - that's what this country is all about, after all.

Understood, however, when quoting someone - its kind of important to know who actually said it or if they even did. Let's not deal in symantics, though.

Let's move along, now........nothing to see here.

Itshould be in in a few more days. I'll post a picture if nobody objects. This plate has really cost me a bunch of work. I have the new style Kuryakyn lay-down wrap-around tag bracket. It comes with a really nice cast aluminum frame that is chrome plated andcurved to match. However, it is so wide that it would havecovered some of the "God Bless America" on the bottom and the "TEXAS" on the right side. So I took the frame and cut 1/4" from both sides and the top and bottom (Dremmel tool) then sanded the chrome off and polished it.
A total of about 6 hours work to make the plate look good (when it get here). But, I have a lot of time and no love life, so no big deal.
As somebody once told me, "it not about how much money you have in the scoot, it how well you did the details".

I always thought it was, "it's not about how much money you have in the scoot, it's how much scoot you got for the money...."

hk_shooter..........pretty much both of those expressions mean the same thing.
Agood detail story, is that I was at a biker bar one day and there were maybe 40 other bikes, most of them more money than mine.
A few of us were standing around looking at each others scoots and one guy came up and had an un-opened long-neck (beer) in his hand. He stopped and said "does anyone have an opener handy?". I reached down under my electrical panel cover and rotated out a polished stainless steel bottle opener that I have bolted to the bottom of the panel. He opened his beer and I rotated the opener back under the cover and he said thank you and walked off. The other guys that I was talking to just looked at me and thenasked where I bought it. I explained that it was a bartenders pocket opener and I had polished it and drilled it to bolt under the panel. It was a big deal to them...and it cost maybe 30 minutes work to make it and it cost me nothing for the opener, but I had one and they didn't.
