Default Seat Suggestions

Looking for a new solo seat for my 07 Low Rider. It's impossible to try any before buying. I ride about 6000 miles a year so comfort would be tops on the list. Any specific models of seats you have used and liked would help me narrow down my choices.

Look at the Mustang Vintage Solo. A lot is going to depend on what style you are looking for.

6000 miles a year is not a lot when you think about it. That's about what I ride per year and I don't get out as much as I'd like. Are you looking for style or comfort or both? I picked up a stock streetbob takeoff from someone here for $40. But, it's a stock seat and about as comfortable on a long ride as any stock seat. In other words, after about an hour, I gotta stop and stand up to get the blood flowing to the rear end again. But, I like the looks of it and couldn't beat the price. Strictly for looks, the Lepara bare bones is the best IMO and would look really good on a LowRider. It's so thin, though, I don't see how it could be a good long ride option unless you had gel pads inserted or something (maybe I'm wrong). Another seemingly popular option is the Brawler solo seat. I think that is a HD seat but those that have it say it's a lot more comfy than stock. Check out FXDCRider, I think he has that seat.

I'm on the Mustang wide vintage solo. Big and wide as the name suggests.
Definately not low profile but very confortable.

Love mine and good for all day cruising - well, as comfortable as any I guess. Stock street bob solo seat just didn't cut it after an hour or so.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't want to buy a stock HD seat. My weekday commute to work is about 30 min but I put more time on the bike on weekends. I think a low profile seat would go great with the lines of the bike. It's hard to evaluate a seat without putting time on it. Everyone is different.

I used to have a Corbin Hollywood Solo on my Ironhead Sportster and I loved it. It didn't look that comfortable, but it sure as heck was. The HD Brawler Solo would be more comfortable if I was about 2" shorter. At 5'9", I tend to sit on the rear edge of the seat.

If your riding 2 up--check out the sundowner--about $250, me and the wife rode to Vegas from Boise and we had no issues. The only problem is it throws you a bit forward. I constantly switch it out and go back to the stock when I ride solo. I need to find something a bit smaller for me with less of a backing...but keeps her from complaining on the back. Honestly if I win the lotto I'm just gonna convert mine to solo and buy a bagger for big long rides--at least that's the excuse I keep slinging when I drag her back to the dealer to look at the Road King on weekends.

Using the Mustang Wide Studded solo with backrest. Do not use backrest around town but really like it on long trips.
